blog # 14

Today’s experience in class was really cool I’ve never done that before I’m still new at blogging and I’m kind of getting the hang of it. I commented on two other blog’s and it was neat to be able to tell someone what you think and have them do the same without ever seeing each other .I haven’t received any comment’s yet but it’s going to be another new experience to read what someone has to say about what you wrote. On my comment’s I had agreements and disagreement’s about the use of iphone’s being a really good source for school , then I talked about texting and the good and bad that comes from it like bad grammar and how it leads to the way you speak. Then I had a disagreement on how abbreviation could help someone become a better reader. I found that hard to believe because I abbreviate a lot and because of it my grammar is bad, I mispronounce word’s sometime’s because of all the misspelling. Back to the iphone I think I could be a very good resource for school, but with it being more a personal idem people will find it hard not to be distracted.

Today in class we worked shop our paper’s, we partnered up with a classmate an reviewed our ruff draft’s. I felt that I had written my rough draft well enough to continue in our essay. But after have my paper read by more than one classmate helped me understand what I was doing wrong and write. They also helped me in my liberation. After I read many other of my classmates paper’s then I found out how I sound when I get off track or I don’t put enough description into my examples. They also helped me in fixing my run on sentences. I never really knew when to so and cut a sentence off. Then in class Ms Crawford explained that when I have a verb and a noun that I have a complete sentences. Also by hearing other student’s feedback I had many of the questions I had answered. Especially when I had my tutoring session in the writing lab. My tutor helped me out big time not only have I learned new ways to help me start, continue and finish my paper but they also showed me ways to make it a habit write and speak correctly, but also to keep it like that. We also agreed in our group that without our tutoring session that our paper would be totally different. Because of many errs we didn’t’ see or some of our grammar .From here on out I would proudly go to the writing center for assistance long after I leave Ms Crawford’s class. I’m always open to new ideas and I always need help to remember the old ones. One of our group members had a very difficult time writing his paper not even with the tutor’s help he go anywhere, but after our group editing session he then saw all the new way’s he could progress in.

Today in class we went to the computer lab to search YouTube for first time vloggers .On the very first page I looked through a few videos and found myself being annoyed. Simply because most people are not use to talking into a web cam or any recording device for that matter, and that being so most of them didn’t know what to say. After looking through a few page’s I saw a clip that said “my first random vlog.” And I thought it was hilarious she stated her name and age didn’t want to say where she was from, because stalker’s. Then she started saying the most random thing’s.” like if I were a dog, I would be a cat” but I hate cat’s. So I find that kind of stuff to be funny, to a certain extent. But most of the other video’s very terrible they would just scream and jump around, then there were the one who all they said was umm, so, and, then. i still haven’t found a clip that I can see myself doing a paper on maybe someone who states their name and state maybe were they would like to attend college. I think once I perfect my practice on how to start my paper and how to free write. I would then know how to start a proper essay, which is most difficult part for me. What I saw in many of these clips is the first time vlogger’s are very nervous and act natural when it comes to being put on the spot. But you do have those natural born stars that act and fell so freely in front of a camera, I even saw some have their second and third vlog’s on there. I don’t know what I would do and how I would react if ms Crawford made us do vlog’s. I would be so embarrassed of what other people would say. But then agene I’m not even going to know who watch’s it unless someone leave’s a comment. that would be the only up side of a vlog is you don’t know who’s going to watch.

Today in class we discussed the progress of our etiquette essay; we had to come up with a unique question about our paper. My paper’s rough draft is complete and, I have not had my meeting with the tutor. Many of the other students wanted to or did completely change their papers after their session. Comparing blog # 3 email to the etiquette essay, I would say there is a complete difference in the writing process. When I wrote my blog # 3 I really didn’t know what I was doing as far as how to start up my paper. I didn’t put much thought into it, because of not know the correct process. For example when I would prepare to write my paper I would stare at the paper for about an hour, and still have nothing written down. Now after hearing my classmates that have gone to their tutoring session I’ve learned numerous suggestions on how to start a paper. I could start by free writing, whatever comes to mind roughly three paragraphs. Then I could go over it and have an idea of where to start at. The guide lines given in class also helped as well, giving a list of word’s not to use often unless they’re really meant. And now that I think about it on our blog assignment we weren’t given any guide lines to follow. Which lead to very sloppy writing and the over use of word’s such as and, or they and you. I also believe after my meeting with the tutor I will be able to understand on how to start up a proper paper without much hesitation, not that I still won’t have problems but with the proper note’s taking my writing process would become easier than it was when we did our blog #3 assignments .

Today in class we talked about Internet dating sites. We read over a few article such as (Internet dating) by Verma Gates, (The dating Detectives) by Madhur Singh, (Getting back into it) by Laura Koss-Feder and (is Eharmony biased against Gay's) by John Cloud. I personaly dont think Internet dating could work because of the risk factor. But for John Conner a 33 year marriage took him out of the dating scene, but since his wife's passing he was working on his computer when a pop up appeared match.com. He try ed it out and soon found divorced 58 year old Barbara Errikson also into computers. Even though marriage wasn't in either of their minds they were eventually wed just two years later. But on the other hand in India. Vikas Sharma a 28 year old operations manager with an it company Say's I met a girl on a matrimonial web site and there relationship hits it's highest point which means they had been chatting for several months but he still worried about the fact was no common link to rely on. So he approached a Mumbai based detective agency called Globe Group, to check out his potential spouse. The agency soon discovered that his potential wife was seen checking into a hotel with an other man. He says in the future i will never get serious about somebody with out having them checked out first. But despite all the negative Say's William Bollinger executive vice president of National back round Data, llc, a database used by honestyonline theirs a web site called honestyonline.com offers many security features such as they can show up at your home take profile pictures stand you on a scale and measure you from head to toe, and even with request they can take bodily fluids assure potential mates you have nothing communicable. To come to my conclusion on this topic it's really just a gamble you simply take some people hit it off. While others are not so fortunate.

who ever thought phones would be allowed in a classroom. As the year's past by technology grows rapidly allowing us to do the impossible. It use to be that you would have to go home to your dest top to check your email, to play a game you would have to go to an arcade to play one. Now from the simple touch of your finger to your cell phone, could have you web surfing on the drop of a dime. Many people would think of a cell phone as a major distraction especially in a classroom. Now these phone are so advance that you can do your homework in class . At the New Jersey Institute of Technology Tyler Auten was one of nine students learning to program iphone applications, half way through the semester he thought up of two new applications with the information learned in class then sold them on apple online for $0.99 each. Elliot Soloway a professor in computer science and engineering at Michigan, Say's that he is going his course in the winter. The information being taught in these class's are allowing students to create new and unusual application's. Auten also said that the stupider the application the more sales you get. Well on a different note Al Gore say's should schools be weird to the Internet. I think school's should definitely be weird to the Internet, the Internet has so many benefits it ables everyone to have access to unlimited information. i don't see any bed coming out of the Internet in school with blocks an security systems. On a college level it would be one of your best resource to gain use full information. Without the Internet our world wouldn't have been able to bring our school's out of the 20 th century.

Working in a group has many benefits, It helps by listening to other people's idea's. So that can help inspire yours. I know it benefits me plenty because i have a very difficult time payin attion and catching everything that was said. And a lot of little thoughts can lead to a very big idea. We will then learn to adopt good studying habit's by Dennis Carter, Clive Thomas on the New Literacy and reading writing iphoning " by Elizabeth Woyke" also The Gr8 Db8 " by Marcus Berkman". i think these discussions are going to be very interesting because there are many ups and Downs to the topic's. Such as the texting issue many people tend to abbreviate quite often leading to a slang sort of talk. Getting to know your team mates would defiantly give a boost because building chemistry takes even more of the load off. I also think us setting up and blogging account is pretty damm sweet, because i couldn't think of writing all these blogs by hand on paper with out the handy tool's of the Internet. In our upcoming class were going to discus How to bring schools out of the 20'th century by Clauda Wallis and Sonja Steptoe. New I phone rules Touch off heated Debate's.More issues about the I phone, I bet pretty soon the I phone is what's going to be carried around instead of text book's. That would be a major convince, but it will be only so long be for teacher's start having problem's with the phone. Student's falling off track and finding it hard to focus in classes. I really look forward to class project's and group studies I feel cofident that these will straighting my study skills as well as my writing, I will become ten time's a better writer then when the semester started.
